Following the Mass, Rev. Fr. Cuenca proceeded to bless the covered court. As he walked through the space, sprinkling holy water on its beams and floor, students and teachers watched with admiration and gratitude. The blessing felt symbolic—an invitation for protection, unity, and success to fill every future event that would take place under its roof.

Soon after, the ribbon-cutting ceremony commenced. Representing the school was Dr. Angelo R. Basilio, who welcomed the guests with warm and inspiring remarks. He spoke of the significance of the new facility and expressed profound gratitude for the unwavering support of government and community partners. His message captured the moment perfectly: this covered court was not just a structure, but a shared achievement.

Present in the event was Municipal Councilor Rafael Alcantara, who stood on behalf of Mayor Carlos F. Pizarro, Jr. In delivering the mayor’s message, he emphasized the municipal government’s continuing dedication to ensuring that schools in Pilar thrive. The celebration also welcomed Barangay Chairman Randel V. Torres of Pantingan, whose message underscored the barangay’s steadfast support for the school. Representing Governor Jose Enrique S. Garcia III was Hon. Romeo A. Austria, Provincial Board Member. This year's campaign carries the empowering theme: “Bridging Math Gaps, Building Confidence.”

Brigada Pagbilang is designed to address the numeracy challenges faced by learners in Grades 7 to 10, particularly those who struggle with basic operations, number sense, and problem-solving skills. Like Brigada Pagbasa, the initiative is grounded in the principle of inclusive education and community engagement, drawing support from teachers, parents, alumni, and student volunteers.

The program follows a structured, leveled approach. On the first day, learners will undergo a baseline numeracy assessment to identify key gaps in computation, pattern recognition, place value understanding, and word problem comprehension. Based on the results, students will be grouped into numeracy levels: Group A for foundational remediation, Group B for guided practice, Group C for reinforcement, and Group D for fluency and enrichment.

Each day of Brigada Pagbilang carries a focused mathematical theme. Day 2 will concentrate on number operations and mental math drills, utilizing manipulatives, flashcards, and collaborative games to build confidence and speed. On Day 3, the spotlight will shift to problem-solving and real-life math scenarios, helping learners connect abstract concepts to practical application through interactive activities such as budgeting, measuring, and estimation tasks.

On the final day, learners will participate in a Math Quiz Bee Showcase, where selected participants from each group will demonstrate their progress in a friendly, inclusive competition. Certificates of participation and improvement will be awarded, highlighting not only accuracy but also effort and a growth mindset.

To ensure effective intervention, math teachers will facilitate small-group sessions using leveled materials. A progress monitoring form, using a simple 1–5 rating scale for each day, will be used to track learner growth in understanding and skill application.

Brigada Pagbilang is also a celebration of partnership. Volunteers—including student leaders, alumni, and parents—will assist in math games, peer coaching, and motivational activities. The week-long program is anchored in the belief that every child has the potential to succeed when given the right tools, encouragement, and community support. At the heart of Brigada Pagbasa is the desire to restore reading confidence, nurture comprehension, and promote a culture of collaborative literacy within the school and beyond.

On the first day of the initiative, Grade 7 learners will undergo the San Diego Quick Assessment (SDQA) to determine their reading fluency. Based on the results, all participating learners from Grades 7 to 10 will be grouped into four distinct reading levels: Group A for readers at the frustration level, Group B for those needing instructional support, Group C for learners who are reading independently, and Group D for fluent readers who can be challenged further. This level-based grouping ensures that every learner receives reading activities that are appropriate and responsive to their individual needs.

As the sessions unfold, learners will engage in a series of progressively designed reading experiences. The second day will focus on vocabulary building and guided reading. Facilitators and volunteers will guide students through reading materials specifically curated for their level. Activities will include word decoding, vocabulary enrichment, paired reading, and structured discussions aimed at building fluency and interest in reading.

The third day of the program will highlight oral storytelling and comprehension activities. Learners will be encouraged to retell stories in their own words, engage in reading circles, and participate in simple reflective tasks to check for understanding. This day emphasizes not only what learners can read, but also what they can recall, feel, and express through language.

On the final day, the school will celebrate the gains of the learners and volunteers through a culminating program. Earthquake Drill at Dr. Victoria BRMHS

On the morning of February 20, 2025, the school successfully conducted an earthquake drill as part of its ongoing commitment to disaster preparedness and safety.

The drill, which began promptly at 9:00 am, was meticulously organized under the leadership of DRRM (Disaster Risk Reduction and Management) Coordinator Alijah Louise Dalde, with full support from School Principal Angelo R. Basilio and active participation from students, teachers, and non-teaching personnel.

The primary objective of the drill was to ensure that all members of the school community are well-prepared in case of a real earthquake or other emergencies. By practicing evacuation procedures and emergency protocols, the school aimed to minimize risks and enhance response times during actual disasters. This initiative aligns with national guidelines for disaster risk reduction and reinforces the importance of proactive measures in safeguarding lives.

Under the guidance of DRRM Coordinator Alijah Louise Dalde, the drill was carefully planned weeks in advance. Ms. Dalde worked closely with School Principal Angelo R. Basilio to design a comprehensive program that included clear instructions, designated assembly points, and contingency plans. Her expertise ensured that every aspect of the drill—from classroom evacuations to headcounts—was executed seamlessly.

Their vigilance helped maintain order throughout the activity and provided valuable feedback afterward.

At exactly 9:00 am, the alarm signaling the start of the drill rang across the campus. Students and teachers immediately followed the "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" procedure, taking cover under desks and protecting their heads. Once the initial shaking simulation ended, participants evacuated the buildings in an orderly manner, following predetermined routes to designated safe zones outside.

Non-teaching personnel stationed at various checkpoints monitored the flow of evacuees and ensured no one was left behind. Teachers conducted roll calls upon reaching the assembly area to confirm that all students were accounted for. Any discrepancies were quickly reported to the monitoring team for resolution.

The entire drill lasted approximately 20 minutes, after which DRRM Coordinator Alijah Louise Dalde addressed the gathered crowd. She commended everyone for their cooperation and highlighted key observations made by the monitoring team. While praising the overall efficiency of the evacuation, she also pointed out minor issues, such as congestion at certain exits, which will be addressed in future drills.

Following the drill, a debriefing session was held involving representatives from each stakeholder group. During this meeting, the monitoring team shared detailed insights into what went well and where improvements could be made. Suggestions included increasing signage visibility and conducting more frequent drills to build muscle memory among participants.

Layunin ng patimpalak na ito na ipamalas ang halaga at mga benepisyo ng bawat strand, pati na rin ang pagbibigay Liwanag sa kahalagahan ng tamang pagpili ng landas na tatahakin ng bawat mag-aaral. Higit pa sa isang simpleng kompetisyon, ito ay isang pagpapahayag ng talento, malikhaing kaisipan, at pangarap ng mga mag-aaral ng DVBRMHS, isang patunay na ang kanilang hinaharap ay nasa kanilang sariling mga kamay.

Sa patimpalak na ito, bawat pangkat mula sa Grade 11 at 12 ay hinikayat na gumawa ng isang maikli ngunit makabuluhang promotional video na nagpapakita ng diwa at benepisyo ng kanilang napiling strand. Ang mga video ay sinuri gamit ang dalawang pangunahing batayan: 60% ng iskor ay mula sa voting likes, kung saan pinatunayan ng mga kalahok ang kanilang impluwensya sa social media sa pamamagitan ng paglikom ng pinakamaraming reaksyon sa kanilang video, at 40% ng iskor ay mula sa kalidad ng nilalaman, kung saan masusing sinuri ng mga hurado ang mensahe, malikhaing presentasyon, at epekto ng video. Ang hurado ay binubuo ng tatlong eksperto sa larangan ng edukasyon at sining, sina Bb. Jelyn V. Dela Torre, Gng. Mary Grace C. Basical, at Gng. Alijah Louise Dalde.

Matapos ang tatlong araw ng masusing deliberasyon at kumpetisyon, itinanghal ang pangkat HUMSS Rosal mula sa Baitang 12 bilang kampeon. Ang kanilang video ay nagtaglay ng masining at detalyadong paglalarawan ng mga oportunidad na hatid ng HUMSS Strand, tulad ng mga posibleng karera sa larangan ng komunikasyon, sining, pamamahala, at agham panlipunan. Ang kanilang malikhaing presentasyon ay nagbigay inspirasyon at nagpatibay sa kahalagahan ng HUMSS bilang isang strand na may malawak na saklaw at malaking potensyal sa hinaharap. Naging daan ito upang ipakita ang kahalagahan ng bawat strand at upang mahikayat ang iba pang mga magaaral na mag-enroll sa Senior High School ng paaralang ito. Isa rin itong pagkakataon upang ipakita ang makabagong paraan ng edukasyon na ginagamit sa DVBRMHS, na nagsusulong ng kahusayan at inobasyon sa pagtuturo at pagkatuto. Roman Memorial High School (DVBRMHS), where Mathematics shines as bright as the sun with the help of The Math Club. Dedicated to making the best learning environment for students, as shown through our constant renovation of the math park, regular enhancement of our facilities, Peer teaching programs, and of course, our math educators who do their best to make sure that their students learn mathematics. In our small Math Park, there are many things to see and learn. On the walls, there are math exercises that can be solved by students. Various shapes and signs can also be seen on the walls, and beautiful plants to admire. A bench where we can rest or do math-related activities. We can also hang out there with friends and teachers while studying math. When you visit the Math Park, you may find the right formula you are looking for, learn the correct use of numbers, and sharpen your problem-solving skills in math.

Math teachers and students collaborated to transform the Math Park into a vibrant learning space. They repainted walls with bright colors, added artistic math designs, and built bamboo shades for comfort. Creative decorations like numbers, shapes, and problem-solving stations enhanced the park's educational appeal. Next, we plan to create a large floor puzzle filled with math equations.

Renovations have been made to our math learning center to create a more engaging atmosphere for students. The addition of better seating arrangements—comfortable chairs, fixing the door, better station for books, and group tables- supports different learning preferences and encourages both solo and group work. These updated resources, along with access to knowledgeable staff and tutors, provide students with personalized assistance and a space to deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts.

One of our many projects is Gulayan Sa Matematika (Gardening in Mathematics). it's a program that offers a unique approach to mathematics education, seamlessly blending practical gardening activities with mathematical concepts.

The core concept involves integrating gardening projects within a park setting. Students actively apply mathematical skills. For example, measuring plot dimensions of plants length, area, and volume.

Crops harvested at the math park garden can help the school for many reasons.

First, for educational purposes. Students can learn math concepts through hands-on activities like measuring plant growth, calculating area and perimeter, or using statistics to track yields.

Second, healthy school Meals. If the crops are edible, they can be used in the school canteen to provide fresh and nutritious food. Lastly, fundraising. Selling the harvested crops can generate funds for school programs and some supplies.

Peer teaching is also one of the things that we do, it's a collaborative method in which our officers take on the role of instructors for their peers, providing an effective means of improving mathematical comprehension. Those who teach not only gain confidence but also reinforce their understanding through the process of explanation, thereby deepening their grasp of the material. Conversely, students who receive instruction find the experience to be more engaging and relatable, as the explanations tend to be more accessible and less intimidating than those provided by a traditional authority figure.

We also participated in the 5th National Vedic Mathematics Olympiad, with Johan Dale Sevilla earning a Merit Award. Our confidence came from the strong communication and collaboration we’ve built as a team. Actively joining competitions, practicing, and working together have sharpened our problem-solving skills. This is just one of many achievements, and we remain committed to growing, representing our school, and showcasing our passion for math.
