Discover the Joy of Science and Friendship

Science Club

JHS Science Club

As a Science Club officer, we work on various projects with the help of our teachers and other school personnel. It’s not just about fun experiments; you’ll always experience the joy of creating art in science, participating in contests, and even winning awards. Many students join poster-making competitions and receive numerous accolades, gaining recognition for their talents, which boosts their confidence. After the experiments or activities, you’ll also take quizzes that measure what you’ve learned. You can answer them confidently and even achieve a perfect score because you’ve already completed the activities, making it easier for you to respond. Afterward, the teacher will discuss the lessons further to ensure better understanding.

Discover the Joy of Science and Friendship at DR. VICTORIA B. ROMAN MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL

You’ll also learn how to communicate and socialize because sometimes activities involve group work. You’ll learn to share opinions and gain valuable lessons. Honestly, you’ll feel proud of yourself after completing the activities because you’ll have learned a lot from the experiments and your groupmates by exchanging ideas.

Experiments become even more enjoyable when our teacher joins us, laughs with us, takes pictures, and creates wonderful memories. These adventures strengthen the bond between us and our teacher. Science isn’t just about experiments; it’s about the joy of making friends, communicating, and sharing opinions.

As Victorians, I participate in this program to encourage more students and teenagers to love science and create great experiences in our school.

So, I’m convincing you to enroll in DVBRMHS and gain knowledge and friendships. It will also help you boost your confidence by socializing with others.

Unleashing the Power of Reading: A Celebration of National Reading

Notebook
What if we could build a nation of creative and critical thinkers? That is the driving force behind our National Reading Month Celebration.

Reading should not be presented to children as a chore, a duty. It should be offered as a gift.

— Kate DiCamillo

With the theme "Pagbasa ay mahalaga para sa pagkatuto at kinabukasan ng bawat batang Pilipino" (Reading is important for the learning and future of every Filipino child), the entire school community united to ignite a shared passion for reading. The campus buzzed with the magic of literacy as students and teachers engaged in a series of dynamic and thought-provoking activities.

From classroom-based initiatives like poster-making, storytelling, and slogan creation, the spirit of reading came alive as students showcased their creativity. However, the highlight of the celebration—and a cherished DVBRMHS tradition—was the literary icon dress-up contest, which featured an exciting twist this year. Participants competed in two categories: cross-gender (individual) and protagonist versus antagonist (duo). This fresh take elevated everyone’s enthusiasm to new heights. Adding to the festivities, sections 7-Magalang and 7-Mahusay delivered captivating performances through singing and speech choir presentations.

Eizen Landicho, the reigning champion in the protagonist and antagonist category, shared his thoughts: “Sa totoo lang, most of us kabataans ay mahilig sa mga pakulo. Kaya, integrating fun activities with literature ay good idea. Maraming nag-engage, almost all Victorians.” His words echoed the sentiment that blending enjoyment with education fosters greater engagement among students.

This year’s celebration transcended mere fun—it carried profound significance. It embodied DVBRMHS’s mission and vision: empowering students to reach their full potential, nurturing patriotic Filipinos, and creating a child-friendly, motivating learning environment. Through these activities, students also developed essential values such as gratitude, empathy, environmental awareness, and patriotism—qualities that define every Victorian.

Unleashing the Power of Reading: A Celebration of National Reading

By celebrating reading, DVBRMHS isn’t just opening books; it’s opening minds and paving the way for a brighter future for its students and the nation. After all, when reading is seen as a gift rather than a task, it has the power to transform lives—one page at a time.

DVBRMHS Emerges with an Achievement through Clean-Up Drive with Different Clubs

AP Club

Araling Panlipunan Club

Dr. Victoria B. Roman Memorial High School successfully embarked on a mission to enhance environmental growth and preserve clean air, with the support of the school’s administration and various clubs, including the A.P. Club.

This journey began on January 22, 2025, and continued through January 24, 2025, with additional efforts on January 30, 2025, leading to remarkable visual cleanliness.

This mission involved the collaboration of highly cooperative organizations, particularly the A.P. Club and many other clubs, to promote environmental responsibility and community service sustainability. The goal was to improve the environment by removing debris, guided by exceptional leadership. Various clubs played a crucial role in the clean-up drive. The coordinators at Dr. Victoria B. Roman Memorial High School worked tirelessly, mobilizing a group of people to actively participate in this important activity.

DVBRMHS Emerges with an Achievement Through Clean-Up Drive with Different Clubs

The clubs, including the A.P. Club, found the activity enjoyable as it contributed to creating a functioning ecosystem through the clean-up drive. Responsibility was reflected and expressed through active participation, with members collecting trash under the guidance of club advisers.

The clean-up drive produced shining results, bringing satisfaction to all involved. Participants were seen picking up trash in the surrounding areas and enthusiastically segregating plastics. Both non-biodegradable and biodegradable trash bins were placed around the school, along with signs and labels promoting everyday hygiene. The air was cleared of debris, from the school premises to tight rock cracks and compacted trees, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the school community.

DVBRMHS Emerges with an Achievement Through Clean-Up Drive with Different Clubs

Dr. Victoria B. Roman Memorial High School indeed marked a positive change through this clean-up drive. Although the event has concluded, participants continue to engage in efforts to expand and improve, achieving a flourishing environment for the community. Schools can empower the current generation and future ones to become active citizens. It is clear that this burgeoning upgrade has started to build harmony and commitment to making a difference within the school.

Jelyn V. Dela Torre, Gng. Mary Grace C. Basical, at Gng. Alijah Louise Dalde.

Math in Action: Transforming Learning at DVBRMHS

Imagine a place where mathematics isn't stuck in a colorless book but comes to life with fun experiences. At Dr. Victoria B. Roman Memorial High School (DVBRMHS), where Mathematics shines as bright as the sun with the help of The Math Club. Dedicated to making the best learning environment for students, as shown through our constant renovation of the math park, regular enhancement of our facilities, Peer teaching programs, and of course, our math educators who do their best to make sure that their students learn mathematics. Enroll with us to experience how our park, combined with passionate mentors, transforms math learning into an adventure, making every visit a step toward a brighter future.

In our small Math Park, there are many things to see and learn. On the walls, there are math exercises that can be solved by students. Various shapes and signs can also be seen on the walls, and beautiful plants to admire. A bench where we can rest or do math-related activities. We can also hang out there with friends and teachers while studying math. When you visit the Math Park, you may find the right formula you are looking for, learn the correct use of numbers, and sharpen your problem-solving skills in math.

Math teachers and students collaborated to transform the Math Park into a vibrant learning space. They repainted walls with bright colors, added artistic math designs, and built bamboo shades for comfort. Creative decorations like numbers, shapes, and problem-solving stations enhanced the park's educational appeal. Next, we plan to create a large floor puzzle filled with math equations.

Renovations have been made to our math learning center to create a more engaging atmosphere for students. The addition of better seating arrangements—comfortable chairs, fixing the door, better station for books, and group tables- supports different learning preferences and encourages both solo and group work. These updated resources, along with access to knowledgeable staff and tutors, provide students with personalized assistance and a space to deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts.

One of our many projects is Gulayan Sa Matematika (Gardening in Mathematics). it's a program that offers a unique approach to mathematics education, seamlessly blending practical gardening activities with mathematical concepts.

The core concept involves integrating gardening projects within a park setting. Students actively apply mathematical skills. For example, measuring plot dimensions of plants length, area, and volume.

Crops harvested at the math park garden can help the school for many reasons.

First, for educational purposes. Students can learn math concepts through hands-on activities like measuring plant growth, calculating area and perimeter, or using statistics to track yields.

Second, healthy school Meals. If the crops are edible, they can be used in the school canteen to provide fresh and nutritious food. Lastly, fundraising. Selling the harvested crops can generate funds for school programs and some supplies.

Peer teaching is also one of the things that we do, it's a collaborative method in which our officers take on the role of instructors for their peers, providing an effective means of improving mathematical comprehension. Those who teach not only gain confidence but also reinforce their understanding through the process of explanation, thereby deepening their grasp of the material. Conversely, students who receive instruction find the experience to be more engaging and relatable, as the explanations tend to be more accessible and less intimidating than those provided by a traditional authority figure.

We believe that every student has the potential to excel in mathematics with the right support and environment. That’s why we provide engaging learning experiences, hands-on activities, and a welcoming community that makes math enjoyable and accessible to all. Whether you’re looking to strengthen your skills, discover new ways to solve problems, or simply enjoy a more interactive approach to learning, our school offers an educational experience that goes beyond the classroom.

We also participated in the 5th National Vedic Mathematics Olympiad, with Johan Dale Sevilla earning a Merit Award. Our confidence came from the strong communication and collaboration we’ve built as a team. Actively joining competitions, practicing, and working together have sharpened our problem-solving skills. This is just one of many achievements, and we remain committed to growing, representing our school, and showcasing our passion for math.

At DVBRMHS, we believe that mathematics should be an adventure, not a challenge. Through our vibrant Math Park, peer teaching programs, and innovative projects like Gulayan Sa Matematika, we create an engaging and supportive learning environment where students can develop a deep appreciation for math. By combining hands-on activities, real-world applications, and collaborative learning, we equip students with the confidence and skills they need to succeed.

With every lesson, problem solved, and discovery made, we turn math into an exciting journey that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for lifelong learning. Join us at Dr. Victoria B. Roman Memorial High School and be part of a school that turns challenges into opportunities, making learning both exciting and fulfilling.

Riding The Wave of Wisdom: Honoring our Torchbearers

Riding The Wave of Wisdom: Honoring our Torchbearers

Shapers of dreams as they’re called, ignitors of curiosity, inspirer of futures and students’ second parents—in other words, teachers. Their hard work shines amongst everybody yet it often goes unnoticed. Teacher’s day is more than a celebration, it’s a powerful tribute to the teachers who guides us every step of the way, it doesn’t just express gratitude but strengthens student-teacher bonds, creating an efficient environment where communication thrives. Imagine joining a school where students and teachers act like family, where passionate educators turn challenges into victory, enroll with us and chose learning taught by devoted mentors who are as  dedicated to students success as they are to their dreams.

Teacher’s Day serves as a reminder of the dedication and passion that educators bring into the classroom. It is a day to honor their patience, commitment, and the countless hours they spend in nurturing our minds. By celebrating this occasion, we create an environment where teachers feel valued, and students are inspired to achieve greatness. A school that recognizes its teachers inspires students feel to learn, communicate, and grow. Choosing an institution that values its educators means choosing a future where learning is not just an obligation but a journey filled with encouragement, motivation, and success. Come and see how our teachers make your journey to prosperity, fun, exciting and full of learning, making every day a step toward an extraordinary tomorrow.

Teacher’s Day is a global celebration with deep historical roots and profound significance. Its origins can be traced back to ancient traditions like India’s Guru Purnima and China’s Confucian rituals, which honored educators as pillars of society. Over time, this tradition evolved, with countries like Argentina and the United States formalizing their own versions in the 19th and 20th centuries. In 1994, UNESCO established World Teachers’ Day on October 5, marking a pivotal moment in recognizing educators’ contributions worldwide. This global observance highlights the importance of teachers in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and advocates for better working conditions and respect for the profession. Teachers play a critical role in shaping the future. They are not just knowledge providers they are guiding mentors who impart values, inspire creativity, and cultivate critical thinking. As Nelson Mandela famously said, “Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world,” and teachers are the ones who wield this weapon to transform lives and societies. Around the world, Teacher’s Day is celebrated with unique traditions that reflect cultural values. In India, September 5 honors Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a philosopher and former president. In South Korea, students gift carnations as symbols of respect, while in Mexico, schools host vibrant fiestas with music and piñatas. Fun Activity Every Afternoon

Our STEM Club officers started a project to keep our school clean. We call it "Oplan Kalinisan." In this project, we will work together with the ABM and HUMSS Clubs. Each group has a designated area to clean before going home in the afternoon. Our assigned area is the girls' comfort room, and we will make sure to keep it clean and tidy.

Fun Activity Every Afternoon

For others, cleaning may be just a part of life, but to us, it is one of the most enjoyable parts of the day! We always take time to clean the girls’ comfort room every afternoon. It is not only for the sake of cleanliness but also a way for us to help our fellow classmates and have fun together. We do this to ensure that the comfort room is clean and in good condition and, at the same time, increase the rating of our classroom.

Fun Activity Every Afternoon

Though it can be exhausting, it is still fun because we do it as a team. It is not a problem to feel tired. Laughter and playful teasing are still there even when we clean. We have so much fun that we don’t even realize it’s already time to go home! Besides having fun, we also practice discipline and responsibility. Our friendship with our classmates becomes stronger, and this usual activity becomes a great way to spend time and remember it.

How about you? In your own experience, have you ever had any fun while cleaning?
